Halloween!

We had a very fun Halloween. We went to a Party in SLC at my friend Amy's house and then trick-or-treated and spent the night in Heber City. Cali was a track star. Rachel was a southern belle. Porter was a pirate. Olivia was Sarah Palin. Elizabeth was a princess. We all had a great Halloween!

The last of the baby goats are here!!

On Thursday, September 4th, our last two baby goats arrived! Our nanny goat Honey had two little blue eyed baby girls! They play so cute together. We are definitely keeping these and I am just glad that they are all finally here!

Yeah! Another Baby!

Saturday at 2:30 in the afternoon we had another baby goat. Brig delivered this one and named him Blaze. Elizabeth is holding the goat today (Sunday morning) and loves him already.

He has blue eyes and beautiful markings. Unfortunately, we only keep the girls so we will sell him in about 8 weeks. He is fun and friendly and very cute too!

Blaze isn't even a day old and already skipping and bouncing. They are so fun to watch!

Brig's Newest Endeavor

Brig flew out to Kansas City, MO on Wednesday and look what he found. A new toy truck to play with. He will sure have fun with this one! What do you think?

Pregnant Goats

Well, here are my two pregnant nanny goats ready to burst ("There's going to be bursting?" - from Cityslickers). They better hurry and have their babies because I don't think they can get much bigger!

Honey will have two (or three) baby goats.

Darcy will just have one baby goat because this is her first pregnancy.

I will update when I have some nanny news.

Still Waiting For Baby Goats

The goats are being stubborn and will not have their babies yet. They are getting huge and very uncomfortable. They look like they are about to explode! I will take and post pictures tomorrow. We are trying to be patient. (I am not very good at waiting).

Trout and Berry Days in Paradise

Our town of Paradise had it's annual Trout and Berry Days celebration yesterday. Cali May and Rachel entered their little horse cart in the parade. They had a great time throwing tootsie rolls and waving at all their friends. The horse did great too. You can see Elizabeth and Olivia watching them go by. Notice Olivia's hood - Elizabeth started filling it up with candy when she ran out of room in her pockets. Everyone had a great day especially Porter who we didn't see for about 2 hours. He was having so much fun running around fair days that he didn't even realize that we had gone home. It is only a mile to walk home so we weren't too worried. I went back about 2 hours later to find him and he was eating cotton candy (he said that the cotton candy man gave him a free sample), playing with a friend and just being a boy. I imagine that is just what Brig would have done when he was that age.

This was a really neat mule train. There were a lot of fun entries in the parade. There were old cars, tractors, floats, fire engines, and horses.
Our neighbors have this draft horse wagon. It was right behind Cali May and Rachel in the Parade so on the way home from the parade, Brig took this picture.
This is the house Brig just finished building in North Logan. It turned out beautiful. We have a couple of families looking at it right now.

First Day of School

Porter Olivia and Elizabeth are all at the elementary school. This picture was taken at the bus stop. Elizabeth was so excited to ride the bus.

Olivia is in the first grade. She loves recess and made 5 new friends yesterday.

Elizabeth started Kindergarten yesterday. Here she is getting on the bus for the first time.

All the kids had a great time on their first day of school. Cali loves being at the high school. Rachel was a little sad that she didn't have homework the first day. Porter has a brand new teacher fresh out of college and says he is really cool. Olivia had fun making new friends including several boys. Elizabeth was a little tired when she came home but liked being one of the big kids and getting to ride the bus. (We are still waiting for more baby pygmy goats. Hopefully this weekend!)

Benny the Billy Goat

Porter named the goat Benny. We were thinking maybe Batman

because of the black on both eyes but I think Benny fits him.

Last Sunday we had a new addition to our herd. Our nanny goat, Little Ann, had a baby goat. We named him Benny and he is already jumping around and climbing on everything he can. We should be getting more baby goats any day so check back and we will post pics when they arrive!

Logan Miniature Horse Show

This past weekend was the Logan Miniature horse show. We all had a great time and everyone earned at least one first place ribbon. There were a lot of beautiful horses and everyone was nice and helpful. Here are a few pictures of the kids in their classes.

It was so hard to get good pictures of the action in the show arena. Here is Cali May lined up after her class waiting for the results with Mom as her header.

Since we started showing the horses, I decided to make some miniature horse jumps.

(It helps to have a husband with every power tool available!)

Kippy is our best jumper. Olivia took him in a jumper class at the last show and got 3rd place!

I am working on my photography skills but I thought it was funny to see our dog jumping the white jump just behind the horse. Good girl R.B.!

This is Denny. He doesn't like to jump as much but he will when we ask him to. He has a very thick mane!

Elizabeth and Teddy were Beauty and the Beast for their costume class. Bethy loves being a princess and the horse didn't mind at all wearing the costume.

For the costume class, Rachel was a fork and Denny was a baked potato. When in Idaho . . .

The judges loved it and Rachel won a first place ribbon. That made 3 days of working with paper mache all worth it!

Last month we showed our miniature horses for the first time in Blackfoot, Idaho. Everyone had a great time and the minis did great! Here are a few pictures.
